Preparations Underway For Telecom Finance 2008
Awards for leading players who specialise in financing and professionally advising telecoms, media and technology companies, and the runners-up, are now being prepared and will be announced at the forthcoming Telecom Finance 2008. The award organisers and researchers, TelecomFinance and BroadGroup have also announced that the Awards ceremony and dinner will be presided over by TV personality and comedian Dara O'Briain, which takes place at London's Renaissance Chancery Court on January 24 2008.
The Awards include Deal of the Year, Emerging Markets Deal of the Year, M&A Bank of the Year, Loan Bank of the Year, Leveraged Deal of the Year as well as, for the first time, Media Deal of the Year and Media Bank of the Year.
The first day is the Emerging Markets Summit, the international finance forum for telecom expansion opportunities in growth markets. The event will tackle some of the most critical issues confronting the continuing development of telecommunications services and technologies in the information age, and uniquely relate them to the use of the most appropriate financial services and instruments and legal structures.
With more than 50 speakers and experts across the 3-day event, Telecom Finance 2008 is positioned as the premier networking hub for senior executives at telecom operators and supplier organisations, who will meet with financiers, private equity investors, investment bankers, legal advisers, and other professional intermediaries focused on the sector.
Sponsors for the event include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Milbank, Linklaters, Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Bank, Detecon Consulting, ABN AMRO, Allen and Overy, AMF Ventures, Georgetown Venture Partners and Ventura Team.
"This is the flagship conference for the TMT sector," said Nicola Hayes, vice president at BroadGroup. "It will provide both deep, content rich insight, and a wealth of networking opportunities. Next year will be challenging, but could also mark a return to M&A by highly strategic investors, as well those exploiting further opportunities in new and Emerging Markets, and it is this premier networking hub that uniquely helps to signpost who the players will be, and clarify priorities for the year ahead."
