'Neighbours' Continues To Do The Business For FremantleMedia

Scandinavia is the latest region to welcome FremantleMedia Enterprise’s (FME) hit Australian soap, Neighbours, into their neighbourhood.
TV4 in Sweden, Norway’s NRK3 and MTV3 in Finland have bought into Neighbours’ sunny downunder lifestyle and will begin broadcasting Australia’s most successful show early next year.
Commenting Justin Hatfield, FME VP Sales UK, Eire, Benelux & Scandinavia, who brokered the deals at this year’s MIPCOM, said: "Neighbours’ fresh, up-to-date look has proved very attractive to new broadcasters especially now that there is an obvious starting point for viewers to join the show.
'A tried and tested, long running drama like Neighbours, which is also highly regarded, is a particularly appealing proposition for any digital channel," he said.
David Ellender, FME’s CEO added: "Once again Neighbours’ allure remains undimmed and the brand continues to grow in terms of both stature and sales. The recent overhaul has put a spring in its step which has been recognised by broadcasters."
A phenomenon since its launch back in 1985, Neighbours remains as popular as ever and is already shown in 57 other countries around the world.
According to FME, the soap's revamp last July was met with a positive response by both critics and audiences alike.
