ATG Broadcast Appoints Erik Olafsen

ATG Broadcast has announced a new addition to its team of Project Engineers with the appointment of Erik Olafsen, reporting to Project Manager Dave Whitaker.
Erik Olafsen studied analogue and digital electronics to university level at Drammens Yrkes Skole, Norway, continuing his education in London before joining the BBC in September 2001 where he qualified as a broadcast systems engineer. His BBC responsibilities included project planning and implementation, installing and designing a wide range of broadcast-related equipment, keeping channels on air in playout-areas, and tracking new and convergent technology. With the transfer of BBC Broadcast activities to Siemens in June 2005, he progressed to Siemens IT Solutions & Services, working as a Project Engineer handling technical design and project management including designing, budgeting and quoting for projects outside and within the BBC.
"Erik brings a very good mix of experience in broadcast project management, system configuration and post-installation support," commented Dave Whitaker. "He combines the necessary technical and supervisory skills with a good appreciation of client relations,
training and workload prioritisation."
