Messiah V Begins Filming In Belfast

Messiah V, the fifth story of the detective series has begun filming in Belfast.
The BBC One network drama has been funded by Northern Ireland Screen and will transmit in winter 2008.
Marc Warren (Hustle, Dracula, Life On Mars) stars as DCI Joseph Walker, a haunted man who has finally met his match. His previously renowned finely tuned instincts and tenacity of character are questioned as his personal demons invade his latest investigation.
A killer enacts a series of sadistic and elaborately staged murders with the intention of communicating a stark message to the world.
The cast in this powerful two-parter also features Marsha Thomason (Lost) as DS Mel Palmer and Daniel Ryan (The Street) as DI Terry Hedges along with Nina Sosanya (Sorted), Niall Macgregor (Dalziel And Pascoe), and Rory Kinnear (Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk To Finchley).
Patrick Spence, BBC Northern Ireland's Head of Drama, said: "We are ecstatic Marc is heading up our wonderful new cast. He will help us lift Messiah to ever new heights. Once again, with a thumping good script from writer Oliver Brown, Great Meadow Productions have given us something special, a drama to be really proud of."
Richard Williams, Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Screen said: “We are delighted that following the recording of Fairy Tales over the past few months another network drama for the BBC has decided to film here.”
Written by Oliver Brown (Bon Voyage) and directed by Harry Bradbeer (Outlaws), Messiah V is produced by Richard Broke (Tumbledown).
Executive Producers are Robert Cooper and Kate Triggs for Great Meadow Productions (Margaret Thatcher – The Long Walk to Finchley and Bradford Riots) and Patrick Spence for BBC Northern Ireland. Messiah V was commissioned by Jane Tranter, BBC Controller, Drama Fiction.
