FremantleMedia Enterprises Sells Drama And Documentary Programming To FOXTEL

David Ellender, CEO, FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME), has announced the sale of a substantial package of drama and documentary programming to Australia’s leading subscription television provider, FOXTEL.
Show highlights included in the deal are the edgy new 13 x 30’ scripted series, 'Love You To Death', which tells the twisted, inspired-by-reality tales of spouses who have killed their loved, or not-so-loved, starring John Waters; smart and sexy university-based drama 'The Best Years'; series two and the Christmas Special of hot fly-on-the-wall entertainment show 'The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency'; both series of documentary hit 'Iconoclasts' and the highly successful, controversial political documentary '638 Ways to Kill Castro' among many others.
Les Sampson, General Manager, Acquisitions, Advertising and Programme Sales at FOXTEL commented: “It is great to be working with FME on what is probably our largest acquisition so far from their programming line up. These shows are all unique and just a little bit different. We know they will appeal to our ever-growing number of discerning subscribers.”
Paul Ridley, Senior Vice President, Sales, Asia Pacific at FME, who brokered the deal said: “As usual, it’s been a pleasure to work with Les and his team at FOXTEL on this major sale, I am sure FOXTEL’s viewers will appreciate the innovative and original programming that we are able to supply. We certainly look forward to future collaboration with FOXTEL."
David Ellender commented: “We are particularly pleased to conclude this extensive programme package with our friends at FOXTEL. The depth and range of our programming portfolio has established our position as one of the world’s leading content distributors. Our drama and documentary offering continues to develop and expand with high quality shows from award-winning independent producers around the world.”
