Narrowstep Gains Success With 'Watch India'

Internet TV company Narrowstep has achieved success with their groundbreaking Internet TV channel, Watch India.
In their first month alone, Watch India has received 100,000 unique viewers, with over 33,000 coming from the UK. Watch India's success lies in their ability to allow Indian expatriates living across the world to access popular Indian programming in TV-like quality over the Internet by visiting www.watchindia.com
This new channel features an assortment of video content powered by Narrowstep's Internet TV platform, telvOS. Narrowstep's state-of-the-art technology allows viewers to enjoy a rich video experience unlike any other found on the Internet.
"Internet TV offers the ideal platform for ethnic programming like Watch India. By removing the geographic limitations of traditional broadcasting, Watch India can offer content to large audiences, around the world," said Todd Narwid, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Narrowstep.
"Furthermore, the tremendous demand for culture specific programming, provides advertisers with a cost effective medium to reach very specific, targeted audiences," he said.
Watch India's viewers are able to watch India's most popular programming including the best of Indian TV and entertainment, breaking news, hit TV series, Bollywood movies, music, entertainment, religion and the latest sports. Premiere programming is available from India's top networks and TV stations including Zee Telefilms, which is the largest television network in India. They provide Watch India with the best of the Zee channels, including Zee TV, featuring top Indian entertainment and culture, and Zee Sports, the leading sports channel, offering the latest Indian cricket, football and more. Additionally, other premium channels exclusive to Watch India include Times Now News, which features live, breaking-news 24/7, Zoom, the number one music and entertainment channel in India, and Aastha TV, India's leading spiritual and religious channel.
"We have amassed a truly outstanding collection of programming representing the best of Indian TV, and we continue to add even more premium channels, expanding our already phenomenal selection of content, said Watch India Spokesperson, Tripti Singh. "This is the first time Indian TV channels are available live over the Internet, to the Indian diaspora in the UK."
Increasingly, more films are being produced in India than anywhere else in the world, and Bollywood fans seem to have an insatiable thirst for more of these hits. To help quench this thirst, Watch India's India Online provides the best of Bollywood movies, both new releases as well as a library of classics. The web portal allows users to watch any of its movies on-demand without additional charges. Each week, more and more movies are being added, so viewers can get the best of Bollywood direct to their PC in full screen.
The Watch India library includes video-on-demand direct from India, allowing users to view past content, similar to a DVR. For the first time viewers have the option to watch Indian TV live or view past programming on-demand for up to 2 weeks, on all 6 channels, at no additional cost. So now there is no need to stay up late to watch a favorite live show, popular movie or a cricket match.
"For the millions of people in the Indian community living in the UK, Watch India offers a way to not only get the latest news, but also stay up to date with culture, entertainment, music and sports, keeping them involved with life back home," added Singh.
