Silver Surfer Rides Into Golden Square
The star of 20th Century Fox’s new film 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer' which opened in the UK on 15 June, is now showing on Clear Channel Create special builds on the Golden Square, now ‘Silver Square’, format.
The 3D statues of the 'enigmatic, intergalactic herald' – alternatively known as the Silver Surfer – appear to ride out of the unique 20ft Golden Square format, delivering massive creative stand-out in prime locations such as Western Avenue, Vauxhall Cross and Shoreditch High Street. Every panel is located within seven miles of Trafalgar Square and 85% of panels are within inner London, reaching an urban, trend-setting audience
Clear Channel Create, outdoor specialist gen outdoor media intelligence and the Fox marketing team, have worked hard to give this latest screen villain - who has 'come to earth to prepare for its destruction' - maximum presence on London’s streets.
Nick Maddison, Director at gen outdoor media intelligence said: "This second instalment of Fantastic Four deserved something special. We, like the Silver Surfer, had to overcome normal dimensional barriers within outdoor. Working with Hoo-Ha we created the perfect background artwork that we could build the giant resin Silver Surfer onto. An engineering feat that brings the movie release, and outdoor medium, to life."
Simon Wardell, Head of Create at Clear Channel Outdoor UK, added: "The Golden Square format is perfect for this campaign. The vinyl reproduction is magazine quality, and with frontlit illumination the creative is visible round the clock. With the addition of the Silver Surfer statues these special builds have taken the campaign into a new dimension.
"The results are ‘fantastic’ and reflect the close relationship we have formed with Fox over a range of campaigns for films as diverse as the Night at the Museum, Ice Age 2 and Star Wars."
