Twofour Lands ITV Entertainment Show

Twofour has landed a major three-part factual entertainment show for ITV1. The Baron gives three household names the opportunity to join the ranks of the aristocracy, by competing for a genuine Scottish barony, whilst The Hotel Inspector - Unseen is a ten part spin-off from Five's successful The Hotel Inspector series which follows Ruth Watson and her uncompromising approach to hotel management.
"This is great news for Twofour," said Chief Executive Charles Wace. "We are already making the third series of The Hotel Inspector for Five and the commission of a spin-off series for Five Life just goes to show how popular the series has become with the Five audience. The Baron is going to be a hugely entertaining too. It has legendary Sex Pistols manager, Malcolm McLaren, Mike Read (EastEnders' Frank Butcher) and Suzanne Shaw from the pop band Hear'Say travelling to the north of Scotland to compete for a real peerage - and sparks will fly!"
Hannah Barnes, Director of Programming, Five Life and Five US, said: "It is great to have commissioned a spin-off for Five Life of one of Five's most popular entertainment shows. The Hotel Inspector is soon to start a third season on Five, and I am delighted to be able to offer fans of the show an extra no-holds barred look at the world of hotel management."
Layla Smith, ITV's Controller of Alternative Programmes said of The Baron: "This is a great commission for ITV and the Summer schedules. The project we're undertaking is hugely exciting and a genuine chance to change the course of history. The show will highlight these well known personalities in a completely different light with them all competing for the opportunity to become The Baron."
In addition Twofour is receiving recognition for two very unusual documentaries it made last year for Channel 4 Education. Both Crip on a Trip and Fame Asylum have been nominated for Royal Television Society Education Awards. Crip on a Trip has been nominated in the 14-19 years category and Fame Asylum has been nominated in the 11-16 years category. The winners will be announced at the Awards evening on Monday 11 June 2007 at the Savoy, London.
