Evolutions Finds The Formula For The 'Perfect Night In'

Evolutions, the largest independently owned post production facility in Soho, has completed all the post on the currently TXing 'Perfect Night In' series (Sundays, 21.00 Channel 4).
An Objective/Crook co-production, the first three episodes reveal what goes to make up an idealised evening's television viewing for Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg and finally Lenny Henry, and feature archive footage of some classic, if fairly esoteric, British television moments.
Evolutions completed all the post work on the series from offline on Avid, through grade and online on Symphony (Richard Everton) and audio work (Robin Saunders and Ian Marriot-Smith).
"The biggest challenge was dealing with the sheer volume of archive material for three two-hour shows, not to mention coping with some very old formats," said Evolutions Post Production Producer, Vicky Hawes. "We had material come in on U-matic, D3 and even MII, which is almost back in the days of steam."
Above and beyond the comedians' entertaining commentary, the shows are good opportunities to catch some rarely glimpsed footage. Alongside the aforementioned Kick Start, which made it seem quite natural to ride motorbikes up muddy cliffs and over Minis, there's also the seminal children's TV thriller 'Children of the Stones', Larry Grayson-era 'Generation Game', plenty of 'Doctor Who', and gritty drama such as 'Prime Suspect'.
