Evolutions Completes Post On 'Long Way Down'

Evolutions, voted Best Post Production House by Broadcast in 2007, has completed the full post-production on 'Long Way Down', the second landmark documentary series which sees Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, motorcycle their way around part of the world.
As well as posting the series Evolutions will be part of a multi-platform commission, providing clips for the Long Way Down website:www.longwaydown.com
Scheduled for broadcast on BBC Two on Sunday 28 October at 9.00pm Long Way Down follows the two intrepid adventurers travel a staggering 15,000 miles from John O'Groats down to South Africa.
For Evolutions, this is a long and intense project. The creative team will be editing 6 x 60 minute programmes for BBC Two, with 8 x 45 minute cut downs for Fox and 10 x 50 minute cut downs for National Geographic. All the rushes are being filmed on HDV, with tapes then being sent back to Evolutions in stages from Africa, for digitising.
Evolutions' Nick King will be conducting the online edit on Symphony Nitris HD at DV25 resolution, with Paul Fallon grading the programmes in Pogle HD.
"This is an epic project but one that Evolutions will have no problem handling. It is clear with this win, that Evolutions are more than capable of posting such high calibre programmes and I know we can exceed the BBC's expectations, with such a skilled creative team behind the project," commented Simon Kanjee, Managing Director, Evolutions.
Long Way Down is a co-production by Big Earth and Elixir Films, produced and directed by David Alexanian and Russ Malkin.
