Disney Channel Signs Second Cable Deal In Poland

Disney Channel has signed its second cable distribution deal in Poland.
The leading kids TV brand will launch on VECTRA and be available to subscribers from May.
Disney Channel is now available to over 2 million subscribers in Poland via the digital platform CYFRA+, Cyfrowy Polsat, Aster and now VECTRA.
Rob Gilby, Managing Director of Disney Channel UK, Scandinavia and Emerging Markets, commented: “I am proud to be announcing our second distribution deal within weeks of each other. Our programmes hold universal appeal to kids wherever they are in world, and I am delighted that more Polish children and their families will be now able to enjoy Disney Channel’s unique mix of animation, live action and TV movies.”
Disney Channel launched in Poland on December 2, 2006, and quickly established itself as one of the number one kid’s (4-15) channels in Poland. Recent viewing figures show that Disney Channel also ranks number one among all individuals (4+). On the weekend of Sunday, April 29 the Channel achieved some of the highest audiences since launch with The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo attracting the best audiences of the day. Both movie premieres drew in an audience which were more than double the average for its time slot.
Disney Channel continues to rapidly expand into new markets across the world, having most recently launched in Turkey last month and South and sub-Saharan in September 2006.
Kid-driven, family inclusive Disney Channel's taps into the world of kids through creative storytelling that spans original series and movies, plus contemporary acquired programming that crosses cultural and geographic barriers.
Disney Channel Poland is localised for the market with dubbed programming, promos and interstitials.
Disney Channel is availble on CYFRA+ channel 44 , Cyfrowy Polsat channel 39, Aster channel 12 and VECTRA on channel 55.
