DIGI TV Mobiltelevision Installs Soundcraft V16 Digital Audio Console

Germany-based DIGI TV Mobiltelevision has installed Soundcraft's new Vi6 digital audio console into an outside broadcast vehicle.
Supplied by Audio Pro Heilbronn, the Soundcraft Vi6 has been installed into DIGI TV's 'OB3', a 16-camera OBV which is regularly used to provide coverage of sports events for German television. OB3 is nearly 16 metres long, and its fully expanded width of 3.5 metres is capable of housing four separate production rooms; audio control, video production, video control and an editing/VTR studio.
Audio Engineer Michael Lindermeir said: "This van has been booked for broadcasting a lot of skiing events (Nordische Kombination, Skispringen) for the two major TV networks in Germany (ARD and ZDF) during the winter months. Working daily with the console, there were two aspects of operation that I found most convincing. Firstly, the reliability and stable performance of the system during our on-air productions; secondly the flexible, quick and easy handling made possible by the Vistonics II concept. The Vi6 proves to me every day that it's a well thought through concept."
As its name suggests, OB3 is one of three large vehicles operated by DIGI TV from its base in Stuttgart. Founded in 1987, the company offers recording and transmission services in digital 16:9 format to most of Germany's TV broadcasters, and those in neighbouring countries.
DIGI TV OB vehicles are used across a wide variety of events, from sporting competitions to live entertainment, gameshows and concerts, especially classical music.
