Gefen Look To Cable-free Extensions At NAB

Gefen will demonstrate methods of achieving cable-free extension at NAB, two geared towards audio/video signals and two designed for computer peripherals.
The Wireless Component Audio Extender transmits high definition video and audio up to 20 metres using sender and receiver units supporting component sources and displays. It delivers video in resolutions ranging from 480i to 1080i, and supports both analogue and digital audio, which accompanies the video for a true HDTV experience.
The Wireless for HDMI Extender uses radio signals to transmit HDTV signals from the source to the television or projector up to 20 metres in distance, delivering HD resolutions up to 1080i. It supports all HDMI sources and outputs digital video and multi-channel audio to any HDMI display.
Aside from eliminating the need for connection cabling, both of these wireless solutions offer performance unimpeded by line of sight requirements, enabling displays to be placed in even the most challenging locations.
For cameras, printers, scanners and other USB devices, Gefen offers two Wireless USB Extenders, one based on 802.11 standards, which works with cross-platform computers including Apple, and another based on ultra-wideband technology that is a PC-only solution. Both deliver low- and hi-speed USB signals up to 20 metres with no cables required. Gefen’s Wireless USB Extenders feature a 4-port hub on the receiver. Delivery speeds reach up to 70Mbps.
Onsite demonstrations of these cable-free extension systems from Gefen will be shown in booth SL2305 throughout NAB.
