Christie Appoint Film Cinema Product Manager

Christie continues to strengthen its commitment to film projection technology with the appointment of Jim Dukes as film cinema product manager in its Entertainment Solutions business division.
In his new position, Dukes will oversee product development for the film and cinema lamp business, working closely with exhibitors to maximise their film initiatives as well as incorporate their future Digital Cinema strategies seamlessly. Dukes has been with Christie for over ten years and brings a proven record of success with two and a half decades of experience in cinema. Most recently, he was technical project leader, providing input and guidance to Christie’s film cinema engineering group. Dukes works out of the Christie Cypress office.
Dukes has an extensive record of accomplishments within the company. As a field service engineer, he helped Christie build its presence around the world. He provided technical support and assisted with the integration of film equipment in the US and abroad including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, China, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Romania, Singapore, Spain, South Africa and Switzerland. Dukes was also integral to the installation of the first multiplex theatres in India and Korea.
“Jim is highly qualified to lead the product development efforts of our film division and brings in-depth knowledge gained from hands-on experience,” said Craig Sholder, Vice President, Entertainment Solutions, Christie. “His extensive success in film and knowledge with Digital Cinema makes him imminently qualified to help our customers address their film needs today and their digital needs tomorrow.”
Commenting on his appointment Dukes said: “The cinema industry is a tight knit community, with a few key players, so trust is an important part of our business. This not only means providing them with quality film projection products, but also being there after the sale, with industry-leading service and support.
“Christie is committed to maintaining close relationships with its customers and to ensuring its products meet their needs today and into the future. With more than 75 years in the industry, Christie is ahead of the game.”
Dukes is a graduate of Clemson University, where he received a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
