Autoscript Introduce 'ClockPlus' At NAB
Autoscript will introduce 'ClockPlus' at NAB 2007 - the latest in a wide range of teleprompting innovations designed by the acknowledged experts in the field of prompting technology.
ClockPlus is an LED SMPTE/EBU time code display which has the added ability to change instantaneously from green (standby) to red (live or recording) when an appropriate Tally input is applied.
The ClockPlus face features easy-to-read 2.25-inch tall digits that display HH:MM:SS A/P in 12-hour mode or HH:MM:SS in 24-hour mode. ClockPlus instantly sets itself to the input time when connected to either VITC or LTC sources. If the source is subsequently removed the display will continue to update the time under control of an internal crystal oscillator. Launched to considerable acclaim at NAB 2006, Autoscript's "VoicePlus", the first voice-activated teleprompting solution, has now gone multi-lingual to include support for Spanish.
VoicePlus is a voice-activated teleprompting solution using a core speech engine developed by SysMedia - leaders in subtitling and captioning - and is a seamlessly integrated add-on module to Autoscript's acclaimed "WinPlus" software. VoicePlus automatically scrolls the teleprompt in time with the spoken word of the talent; therefore giving users the freedom to roam the studio.
Michael Accardi, President, Autoscript USA, said: "What on the surface appear to be subtle improvements to our technology are in practice massive benefits to the end user. That's because we fully understand the requirements of the end user, whether in the studio or in the field, and our entire ethos is based on knowing that the user should only have to worry about their lines while we ensure seamless prompting. It's all about making their job as easy as possible, and we're continually seeking out and implementing ways to make that happen."
Autoscript innovations that further this concept begin with "GoPrompt-15 News", which for the first time provides the ability for field reporters to link directly to the newsroom. Dynamic run orders can, for the first time in a self contained unit, be done while on location, anywhere in the world.
Unparalleled daylight readability is now possible in the form of Autoscript's 8-inch TFT high-brightness screen which features 1500 candelas, nearly four times brighter than the industry norm in field operations.
Autoscript's "Wireless Foot Control" (WFC) means that there are no limitations as to where a studio can be set up. The WFC can be run with AC or DC power, thereby eliminating cable runs in hard-to-access areas. The WFM also features a 10-channel input to enable multiple units to use a single system.
Also featuring at NAB are "W17" and "W17 HD/SD" monitors, designed to work with Autoscript's broadcast TFT-17 and TFT-20 on-camera prompters to provide unmatched flexibility and functionality. The multi-format W17 auto-senses NTSC, PAL, SECAM, S-Video, DVI-D and VGA while the W17 HD/SD also auto-senses SDI and HD-SDI. With these monitors Autoscript has addressed all of the mounting, power, viewing angle and format issues conventionally associated with on-air talent monitors.
And finally, Autoscript is demonstrating the perfect fill light, "PlusLight" (PL-5600, & PL-3200) which is mounted to - and powered by - Autoscript's TFT on-camera prompters. Using an LED array, PlusLight offers soft controllable light without the aggravation of conventional tungsten fixtures. With no AC cables needed to/from the camera or pedestal, no heat issues and a simple mounting solution, PlusLight is ideal for studio or field prompting.
