Callisto Switchers On Show At NAB

The Callisto range of switchers has been upgraded and will be at NAB with new features added.
Callisto is commonly found in SNG trucks around the world and used for live applications where quick deployment and independent power supply are critical. Now it widens its range of applications with the introduction of a Chroma Keyer and Hot-Cut. Hot-Cut enables the user to switch asynchronous signals directly on programme bus with NO freeze frame on the output.
Callisto is in use globally in a variety of applications. The unit's compact format, straight forward controls and multi-format input options make it an ideal choice for live applications. Of course BHV's policy of keen pricing also helps to make this a very attractive choice. Callisto is a full broadcast specification unit with 10-bit precision throughout.
Also making its official NAB debut is the Syntax HD Up/Cross-Converter, the recipient of TV Technology’s prestigious IBC 2006 STAR award. Syntax uses a super-resolution bandlet algorithm developed by Let It Wave, an advanced technology company based in Paris, France. It brings the performance advantages of motion-compensated processing without the currently associated disadvantages of high cost and occasionally severe artifacts. Syntax is an affordable 1RU unit offering up-conversion and cross-conversion with SDI I/O.
Established Products on Display:
  • Proteus, recipient of TV Technology’s prestigious IBC 2005 STAR award, is a multi-format, multi-purpose converter based on an advanced Motion Adaptive Standards Converter. Proteus offers full format conversion, frame synchronising, TBC, video and audio Proc Amps, audio delay and Aspect Ratio Conversion as well as bi-directional standards (rate) conversion. Proteus addresses lip-sync errors with an optional audio delay (up to 10 seconds) featuring both tracking and block delay. Proteus is a full broadcast specification unit in use with many leading broadcasters worldwide.
  • Neptune dual frame synchroniser is another of Brick House Videos products to be awarded the STAR award by TV Technology at NAB 2004. Neptune features SDI I/O with analogue outputs as standard and optional composite inputs. Neptune is a full broadcast specification unit with 10-bit precision throughout.
  • VTB-2A stand-alone 4‑channel composite field switcher. Probably the world’s smallest broadcast switcher, and still in use throughout the industry.
