Dublin Gets Set For Jameson Film Festival

The Fifth Jameson Dublin International Film Festival boasts a stellar array of guests from almost every area of filmmaking; opening with one of Ireland’s greatest living actors Gabriel Byrne who gives such a wonderful performance in Jindabyne. Another of the country’s finest, Cillian Murphy will be present for the presentation of his second collaboration with Danny Boyle, 'Sunshine'.
Another rising star and Ireland’s nominee for ‘Shooting Star’ at the Berlin Film Festival, Padraic Delaney, will take part in one of the many festival sidebars examining the rise of young Irish actors. A comparative veteran, Leslie Phillips will also attend for the screening of Venus.
Legandary producer Jeremy Thomas whose latest success Fast Food Nation will screen here as as well as a number of his best known films including The Dreamers and Naked Lunch. Jeremy Thomas will take part in a Q&A after the screeening of Fast Food Nation and in a public interview the follwing day.
The excellent Shane Meadows will attend for his controversial take on Thatcher’s Britain with This Is England, the festival will also play host to Amy Berg the writer/director of the powerful Oscar-nominated documentary 'Deliver Us From Evil'. Another director of considerable note, that wry chronicler of Irish Americana, Ed Burns will attend the festival for his new film, 'The Groomsmen'. Closer to home the creative teams of Sundance Winner Once will attend as will the forefront of young Irish talent for 'Cre Na Cille', 'True North', 'Small Engine Repair', 'WC' and 'The Thrills'.
