BBC Staff Vote For Strike Action

BBC staff are set to stage a 24-hour strike following a ballot on industrial action over jobs cuts.
Broadcasting union Bectu said that industrial action would be held on February 26 after union members voted for a strike. The union said that the action has been prompted by around 10 jobs cuts and it was determined to fight the compulsory redundancies.
Further industrial action is also planned over a dispute over working practices in news production departments. A three-day strike has been called in news production, beginning on February 27.
Thousands of Bectu and NUJ members could be taking part in this action across the BBC news and production departments.
