Electric Sky Secures International Programme Deals

Electric Sky has secured international deals for some of its key programmes including, 'Art of The Heist', 'Monaco Race of Kings' and 'Independent Spirit Awards at this year’s Mipcom'.
Fast-moving HD crime investigation series 'Art of the Heist' (6 x 54’ by Electric Sky Productions for Gallery HD one of the Voom/ Rainbow Networks) has been sold to U-7 Group Russia. They recently picked up 'Tales of The Living Dead Series 2' and 'Animal Movie Magic' (both produced by Electric Sky Productions).
In Japan GPS Company Ltd sign a DVD deal to sell ‘Monaco Race of Kings’ (1 x 52') produced by ZETA for Arte. This one-hour special visits Monaco and attempts to explain the Riviera’s fascination with fast cars, and the magic of this last urban racetrack.
Another DVD deal has been agreed by Media Max for MGM Latin America ‘The Independent Spirit Awards’ (1 x 120', 1 x 94' - by Film Independent Productions).
Having made a name for itself as the premier awards event for the independent film community the ceremony has been hosted in recent years by comedian Sarah Silverman and actor Samuel L Jackson.
Other deals this month include: Vitaya Belgium acquiring ‘A Place In The Sun – Home Or Away Series 2’ (35 x 60’) by Freeform Productions for Channel 4. With the series dedicated to finding homes for people who would like to relocate either in Britain or further a field has also been sold to New Zealand, Canada, Israel, Sweden and Japan.
Electric Sky continues to have its HD content fly off the shelves as the newly launched HD channel DHDTV of the Dogan Group, Turkey picks up a package including ‘Fashion Avenue’ Series 2 (13 x 30’) An Ultra HD / Electric Sky Production and ‘PIG’ Series 1 & 2 (24 x 60’/24 x 60’) by Rush HD Production, one of the Voom HD Channels. PIG series 2 has also been picked up this month by The Extreme Sports Channel.
MLI also picks up ‘Fashion Avenue Series 1 & 2’ (13 x 30’/ 13 x 30’) and 'Big Boutique Series 1 & 2'. (52 x 26’) by Electric Sky Productions and TVB Hong Kong signs up ‘Fashion Avenue Series 2’ (13 x 30’).
Al Jazeera picks up ‘Twister Chasers’ (1 x 60’) produced by Indigo Films for National Geographic Channel, ‘Genes On The Menu’ (1 x 50’) A Visions Unlimited Median GmbH Production, ‘Egypt Decoded’ ( 1 x 51’) A CTC/ Cresset Communications Production
‘Who Killed Diana’ (1 x 52’) by MAPTV for Sky One continues to make international sales with CTC Russia, RDI Canada and Globosat Brazil picking it up this month.
In Sweden & Finland, TV4 Fakta acquires ‘John Lydon Goes Ape’ (1 x 52’) by Objective Productions for FIVE, where the ex-punk rocker travels to Uganda and Rwanda in search of the great apes.
Finally, The Pet Network Canada picks up Animal Movie Magic (13 x 30’) by Electric Sky Productions for Animal Planet International; Telemadrid licence ‘United by 9/11’ (1 x 52’) by MAPTV for BSkyB; and Media Matters – Hong Kong, China & Macau sign up ‘Globalisation Is Good’ (1 x 52’) A Freeform Television Production.
