Casablance Finish Acquires Quantel Colour Correction System

Casablanca Finish, a leading full service post production facility in Brazil and one of the top service providers for film, video and multimedia in Latin America, has recently acquired a Pablo 2K - Quantel’s next generation non-linear colour correction system.
The Pablo 2K boosts Casablanca Finish’s already impressive roster of services and systems, which includes among other equipment, two Quantel eQ editing, effects, colour grading and deliverables systems.
Since its creation in 1993, Casablanca Finish has developed as a full service post production facility in Brazil, working on both commercials and features. The facility offers lab services, satellite links, high-resolution printing and post production facilities. Casablanca is also a leader in HD production for film and video and counts among other activities the running of several HD film projection sites in Brazil.
Pablo is a complete state of the art colour grading system from Quantel. Because Pablo is built on the foundations of eQ and iQ and includes their full editing, effects, titling, trailers and deliverables capabilities, it is also a complete post and digital intermediate system with a proven business model. Among other standard features of Pablo, TimeMagic takes the waiting out of rendering; the new V3.6 software includes Revolver, a revolutionary secondary color correction tool, which eliminates the need for keys while providing new levels of subtlety and flexibility to the colourist. Revolver enables the colourist to work at multiple levels within the picture itself via a completely intuitive interface that effortlessly produces natural looking results.
The addition of the Pablo 2K by Casablanca continues the company’s tradition of offering first rate audio-visual services to a wide spectrum of customers, from advertising campaigns and broadcast services, to film production and multimedia. With the new Pablo, Casablanca has the tools to undertake any film project and produce the highest quality results with new levels of speed and workflow efficiency.
José Luis Montero, Quantel’s Regional Sales Executive for South America said: “Casablanca has always been recognized as a leading company in the region. The relationship between Quantel and Casablanca began years ago and we are proud of the continuing confidence Casablanca places in our systems, from the time when they trusted our Editbox and Henry effects suites, to the purchase of the first two eQ systems in South America. Now they have once again shown their confidence in Quantel by opting for Pablo, our powerful next generation non-linear colour correction system to lead its DI and colour correction business.”
