BKSTS celebrates its 75th anniversary

BKSTS, The Moving Image Society - an institution that remains one of the cornerstones of the moving image industry - celebrates its 75th Anniversary.
The Moving Image Society was founded in 1931 to set standards and to promote excellence in the film-making industry. 75 years later it is still playing a major role in setting standards, educating, training, and representing all those involved in the business, which has now widened to include TV, video and the ever-growing multimedia industry.
The Society has for some years been based at Pinewood Studios, the UK's leading production and post-production facility, and Pinewood’s Grand Ballroom will be the venue for a Gala Awards Dinner on the 20th October 2006, celebrating the Society’s 75th Anniversary.
Prestigious BKSTS ‘Moving Image’ awards will be presented to people who have made major achievements in technical and artistic roles in the business, and special honours this year will be presented to the amazing BBC wildlife team of Sir David Attenborough and Alastair Fothergill, and to film producer Paul Hitchcock, whose many movies include 'The Phantom of The Opera' and 'Mission Impossible II'.
