TV Breizh broadcast centre runs SGT automation

The TV Breizh broadcast centre established in Lorient (France), based on an SGT automation, is now broadcasting five thematic TV channels.
Originally, SGT employed a solution based on its DBOS Automation and Back-Office products to broadcast a single channel, TV Breizh.
"There was no better choice since TF1 decided to add more channels a few years later," said Guy Fourgerolle, Technical Director in charge of TF1 group’s Thematic channels. "The modularity and the evolution of SGT software products helped us expand our initial system almost seamlessly; we never had to stop broadcasting TV Breizh 24/7, throughout the whole upgrade process."
This expansion resulted in 4 new channels: Pink TV, plus the 3 channels of TF1 Discovery division: ‘Odyssee’, ‘Histoire’ and ‘Ushuaia TV’.
Equipment sharing and people sharing are the main benefits of such a system. The Media Management modules deployed by SGT to ingest programs, help achieve these savings. TF1 is also able to ingest programs from a remote facility, thanks to the modularity and to the connectivity of SGT products: SGT’s DBOS Loader transfers the Media over a leased line.
Additional sharing results from the single SeaChange video server, used for transmission. SGT’s DBOS Automation controls the 6-node Video Server which is responsible for broadcasting all channels, 24/7. DBOS Automation also drives another node, which provides back-up for all channels.
