Pharos expands web based router control

Pharos Communications has announced Version 2.0 of its industry-leading Pilot Ria web browser-based router controller.
Pilot Ria provides full reactive control of broadcast routing equipment from any web browser via local or secure-coupled intranet. It can be deployed quickly and easily throughout a single-site or multi-site facility and enables engineering staff to reconfigure a system while away from base.
New features introduced in Pilot Ria 2.0 include tabbed pages for grouping sources and destinations. Text tallies act as desktop UMD labels showing clearly what is routed. Single-click deployment allows new or updated panels to be implemented in seconds across an entire organisation. The web-based configuration tool has been enhanced with the ability to clone an individual user setting to other users. Pilot Ria 2.0 also provides expanded database management options, the ability to export router associations to Pharos Pilot MCR format, and tie-line configuration.
Steve Robinson, Product Manager for Pharos Pilot, said: "Customer response to Pilot Ria 1.0 was very positive. Version 2.0 addresses issues such as page tabbing and the ability to mix X/Y and BPX functionality on the same panel. Text tallies and the single-click deployment mechanism enable significant improvements in operator efficiency and we have further reduced configuration time.
"Pilot Ria 2.0 allows many more custom options and configurations than before. A recent customer in Hollywood is using it to deliver SD, HD, RGB, linear timecode and KVM across multiple routers and protocols with a single button push from any computer at its very large post-production facility. In terms of the drivers running underneath Ria, we have added extra facilities to our router core and more KVM drivers. KVM control has also been improved and expanded."
Pharos Pilot Ria 2.0 is available now.
