NEW CHANNEL 4 SLOT SEEKS TALENT

UK Broadcaster Channel 4’s late night and drama departments are collaborating on the launch of a co-funded drama strand that will see 10x30 minute low-cost projects aired before Christmas.
Under the working title Dogma TV, the initiative is designed to nurture new writers and directors, with similar principles to C4 late-night documentary strand ‘The Other Side’.
Each film will have a budget of £26,000 and will be produced by Paolo Proto at indie Ideal World.
Commissioning editor, night-time, Darren Bender said: “the idea is to test new talent who are too big a risk for drama’s normal budgets and to find contemporary writers, not into period romps.”
Darren is working closely with outgoing Commissioning Editor drama series Jonathon Young and his team, and Assistant drama editors Christabelle Dilks and Selena Cunningham are developing the scripts.
