Sky Mexico invests in Dayang D3-Edit
Sky Mexico, one of Latin America's largest and most successful broadcasters, has invested in Dayang D3-Edit editors.
Part of the consortium formed by News Corporation, Liberty Media and Grupo Televisa, Sky transmits more than 200 channels via satellite and cable from its headquarters in Mexico City.
"The broadcast market in Mexico and Southern America is in a very healthy development phase," said Karlton Burn, Dayang International CEO. "This is led in part by Brazil's decision to introduce HD services and by the growing popularity of interactive content. The Sky Mexico order is the latest in a series negotiated by Ernesto Araoz, Director of Sales & Marketing Latin America. The primary application of the Dayang D3-Edit equipment at Sky Mexico will be to assemble content for promotional interstitials."
Introduced at NAB 2005, Dayang's D3-Edit allows end-to-end native digital production in a wide selection of signal formats including DVC PRO 25 (DV25), DVCAM (DVSD), MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (10-50 megabit/s), MPEG-2 IBP, MPEG-4, Motion-JPEG, uncompressed YUV, Microsoft Windows Media and Real Media. It is also fully interconnectable with analogue component, analogue composite and SDI equipment. Multi-format video sources can be edited on a single timeline.
