Volicon wins NAB AIM Award for Innovation in Media

Volicon, a leading provider of advanced solutions for monitoring broadcasts, logging, archiving, and streaming of digital video, received an NAB Award for Innovation in Media (AIM) at the NAB2006 Conference and Exhibition.
As one of the five exhibiting companies receiving the highest number of attendee votes in the Content Delivery category during the second annual AIM program, Volicon received AIM recognition for its Observer multichannel broadcast monitoring system during the NAB Technology Luncheon held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Wednesday, April 26.
“This is a great honor for Volicon, as it represents the core of our philosophy: to integrate the feedback we get from our customers and the market into our products and make the best, most efficient solutions possible,” said Julius Perl, vice president of marketing at Volicon. “Because of this, the Observer is the most robust, full-featured monitoring and logging product on the market today, helping our clients to dramatically improve their workflow efficiencies.”
Based on a powerful proprietary streaming media engine, Volicon’s Observer is an advanced video, audio, and data monitoring solution that allows users to record, store, search, retrieve, and export media, in real-time, from multiple broadcast sources and from any desktop in the facility, utilizing closed-captioned information to assist users in searching for specific video clips.
Version 3.0 of the Observer software features a new closed-caption display feature, the ability to schedule daily tasks to export specific content in a system-independent file format, and the storage and easy retrieval of media for up to 15 years and beyond via a new support feature from Front Porch Digital.
The Observer 3.0 software also supports Sundance and Harris Digital automation. The as-run log information is imported into the Observer system to segment the recorded content, allowing simplified program access and clip creation.
