Gefen launch DVI and HD-SDI Scalers

Connectivity solutions provider Gefen has announced two next generation DVI and HD-SDI Scalers, powered by Gennum Corporation's GF9351 with VXP technology.
Each supplies several key functions that surpass standard converters in addition to supplying a professional quality DVI to HD-SDI or HD-SDI to DVI conversion, including: format scaling of multiple resolutions up to 1080p; broadcast-quality scaling with optimal sharpness during up/down conversion of both standard and high definition formats using Gennum's GF9351 Image Processor; intuitive on-screen menu allows for quick and easy selection and retrieval of preferences, also available through the RS-232 connection.
At the heart of the GF9351 with VXP technology are four families of image processing technologies developed from professional broadcast algorithms:

TruMotionHD intelligent motion-adaptive de-interlacing and film cadence processing of HD and SD material for optimal image sharpness and resolution.

FineEdge dynamic edge detection and processing to eliminate jagged edges often found in common de-interlacing solutions.

FidelityEngine programmable image enhancement technologies for removal of unwanted noise and improvement of detail.

RealityExpansion™10-bit color processing for eye-catching natural images and uncompromised video and film quality.
