BBC WALES APPOINTS RUSSELL TO DEVELOP TALENT

MAGGIE Russell has been appointed as the first Head of Talent at BBC Wales.
Currently Executive Producer for the broadcaster’s drama department, Russell will be responsible for developing creative talent for the corporation both on and off-air.
Menna Richards Controller of BBC Wales said: “With increasing competition, really talented people have many more openings than before. I want them to feel that BBC Wales is the obvious place to work because it is exciting, vibrant, fun and produces great programmes.”
Russell’s appointment coincides with a BBC-wide talent initiative aimed at ensuring the continuation and development of creative excellence throughout the corporation.
Over the past three years Russell has worked alongside former Head of Drama, Pedr James, and his successor, Matthew Robinson, overseeing a number of drama productions including ‘Jack of Hearts’, ‘The Magician’s House’, ‘Dirty Work’, ‘Border Café’ and ‘Belonging’.
