UTV SAY ADVERTISING REVENUE SLOWING

UTV SAY ADVERTISING REVENUE SLOWING
Ulster TV are warning that the strong growth in advertising revenues at ITV over the last six months is unlikely to be sustained into the next quarter.
UTV, one of the smallest ITV companies say that they are unlikely to be affected by the downturn because of continuing growth in the Irish economy.
UTV have seen their profits before tax soar by more than £18 million in the six months to June 30, rising to £20.4 million, from £2 million at the same point last year.
Of the £18 million, £13.4 million of this is a one-off gain from the sale of Ulster TV's 1.5 per cent holding in European satellite broadcaster Societe Europeene des Satellites.
Managing Director John McCann said that the London advertising market is showing signs of a slowdown and even a reversal into the third and fourth quarters of the year, but the company is protected by their strong regional focus and strength of the Irish economy.
