MILLER WIRES HOMES FOR SKY DIGITAL
SKY HOMES, a division of British Sky Broadcasting, have formed a strategic partnership with Miller Homes, one of the UK’s top 20 housebuilders, to make its full range of new house types ready for digital television.
Sky Homes will help Miller to prewire every new home they build for easy access to digital television in all main rooms.
The partnership between Miller and Sky aims to make it easier for homebuyers to join the digital revolution and positions home entertainment as a key sales and marketing tool for Miller’s future products.
Tim Wright, Head of Sky Homes, said: “This partnership takes forward Sky’s drive to forge ever closer links with the private housebuilding sector. Miller’s decision to make all of its new house types digital ready provides further evidence that digital television is set to become a standard feature in new homes.”
As the system is built into the fabric of each house, purchasers will be able to access multichannel television in the living room, kitchen and master bedroom without additional wiring. Digital ready homes are also capable of providing access to radio services and CCTV in addition to television.
The new system will form part of the specification of each of the 33 architect-designed house types, which range from starter homes to 5-bedroom detached houses.
