Pioneer appoints new Head of Finance
Leading UK science and factual indie Pioneer Productions has appointed former HIT financier Peter Dunkerley to the role of Head of Finance.
Dunkerley will be responsible for managing the finances of the Pioneer Media Group of companies, which also includes Rainbow Post Production, as well as all aspects of production finance across Pioneer’s raft of commissions including 'Naked Science' for National Geographic Channel.
Dunkerley has a wealth of television finance experience. He joined children’s indie the Media Merchants Television Company, 'Art Attack' in 1997, where he oversaw production accountancy and corporate finance across all commissions, as well as being contracted out to provide production accountancy to a variety of other independents.
After the company was bought by the Britt Allcroft Group in 2001 and then the subsequent takeover by HIT Entertainment in 2002, Dunkerley continued to oversee the finance of a number of high profile projects including a major Disney commission for 'Art Attack International' and 'Thomas the Tank Engine'. He has recently taken up his new post at Pioneer’s London office where he will head a team of three, and will answer to Pioneer’s MD Stuart Carter.
Stuart Carter, Managing Director at Pioneer Productions, said: “Pioneer is continuing to go from strength to strength as our recent raft of international commissions show and Peter’s appointment will play a major part in our international ambition as a company. We’re delighted to welcome him onboard.”
