BBC Motion Gallery ‘hangs ten’ at Brighton

BBC Motion Gallery, the footage sales arm of BBC Worldwide, has announced new sporting footage to be made available commercially for the first time.
In an agreement finalised at BBC Showcase today, BBC Motion Gallery was appointed as global distributor for a new series of surfing, skiing and snowboarding footage produced by international sports brand, Rip Curl.
The footage, exclusive to BBC Motion Gallery, has been specially shot by extreme sports camera specialists and offers over three and a half hours of action and stunts across all three sports.
Announcing the deal, BBC Motion Gallery Sales Director, Linda Reeve, said: “There is stunning new footage in this collection of surf and snowbound action. With the latest production techniques, Rip Curl has been able to capture quality shots at high speeds, whether inside a breaking wave or hurtling down the slopes.”
Rip Curl Content Manager Marty James added: “With BBC Motion Gallery already managing the BBC’s formidable sporting archives, we very much look forward to seeing this brand new footage licensed around the world. The shots are very inspirational, with the energy of the surf and snow action almost jumping from the screen.”
The new footage is available immediately from BBC Motion Gallery.
