Leading hire company chooses Hamlet monitoring for HD

TX, one of the UK’s leading professional equipment hire companies, specialises in broadcast shooting facilities for dramas, documentaries and entertainment programming.
As part of its migration to focus heavily on HD equipment, TX has invested in two Hamlet 292WVA LCD Scopes, which provide precise monitoring of HD-SDI signals in a compact and easy to use form.
The original requirement was for monitoring on a new series, shot in studio and on location, by children’s television specialist Ragdoll Productions, originated in HD.
“Since then the Hamlet LCD Scopes have been out on other shoots and now people are specifically asking for them,” commented Jon Boyce, managing director of TX.
“Our clients rely on us to deliver high quality results, especially as we move to HD,” he continued. “The requirement was for top end equipment that was light, small, reliable and so simple to use that anyone who had never seen it before could instinctively find their way around it. We looked at everything on the market, and found that Hamlet ticked all the boxes.”
Steve Nunney of Hamlet added: “When we set out to develop the LCD Scope we wanted to create something that was stable and portable (by eliminating the CRT); precise enough for critical HD quality monitoring, and intuitive to use. It is great to hear from someone in the heart of production that we achieved that goal.”
