ASTON’S MOTTO HD GOES UNDERGROUND

TAURUS Media, one of Germany’s production and post-production houses, have became the first customers to take delivery of the new Motto-HD high definition character generator from UK-based manufacturer Aston.
Aston's German distributor, Penta Studiotechnik, co-ordinated the evaluation and secured the order as the 'gone underground' project was completed this autumn.
Managing Director of Penta Studiotechnik Jurgen Helscher explains: “Taurus were attracted to the Motto-HD initially because of its favourable pricing. At under £20,000, even with options, it was much cheaper than alternative HD character generators. However, it was the unit’s ability to interface with their other standard definition Aston CGs which clinched the deal. Taurus already have 10 Aston MotifXLs, and the ability to prepare titles and logos on those and network the files over the Motto-HD greatly influenced their decision.”
Taurus evaluated Motto-HD during the post-production of ‘gone underground’ HD film, which was shot and post-produced at the 1080 24p standard.
‘gone underground’ is the first film to be shot entirely on HD for the big screen, and post-production was completed in a matter of days, at a faster rate than the 35mm format.
Taurus Media used their Motto-HD to generate the end credits, and have a number of other HD projects in the pipeline.
