St. Anne’s complete ‘The Lion in Winter’ HD postproduction

St. Anne’s Post have completed the HD postproduction on 'The Lion in Winter' for Hallmark Entertainment.
The Lion in Winter is an HD film made for television starring Patrick Stewart (Moby Dick, King of Texas) and Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction) which depicts the last years of King Henry II reign and his three sons' struggle for power.
Portia Napier, St. Anne’s Head of Postproduction, said: “St. Anne’s were involved with this project right from the start of production. We co-ordinated the rushes and then provided full picture and audio post-production from lock to delivery over a period of seven months. This included conform, HD telecine and grade, despot, compositing of visual effects, online – including the main title sequence - and the Dolby 5.1 sound mix. We also housed the production at St. Anne’s when it came back from Hungary.”
Trevor Brown, St. Anne's Senior TK operator, added: “This has been a great project to work on, as the client gave us an enormous amount of creative freedom to interpret the grade requirements as we worked.
"The film was very well shot when it arrived with us and notable elements that we completed in telecine included transferring sequences shot during the day to look like they had been photographed at sunset, increasing atmosphere in certain scenes by adding shadows using Pandora’s Pixi, adding natural light into shots by adding windows, which was partly done in DS and TK and scratch removal using Oscar.”
The Lion in Winter is directed by Emmy-Award winner, Andrei Konchalovsky (The Odyssey), produced by Dyson Lovell and written by James Goldman, based on his Academy Award-winning play.
