2.4% pay deal at S4C
Members at Welsh language Broadcaster S4C have accepted a pay deal negotiated by local Bectu stewards.
The deal gives a 2.4% pay rise to staff, the RPI figure at the benchmark month. However, people earning less than £25,000 will receive a welcome rise of £1,000.
In addition, staff will have their working week reduced by 30 minutes and receive an extra day's annual leave per year of service after the first five years, up to a maximum of five extra days. Bectu to will continue to campaign for S4C to have an additional day off in recognition of St David's day on March 1.
National Official Nigel Mason commented: "This is the second year in a row that BECTU has secured a better deal for lower paid workers at S4C and is a tribute to the local reps' hard work."
