HTV FILM WINS TWO AWARDS IN AMERICA
‘THE TESTIMONY of Taliesin Jones’ which is to be given its world television premiere on HTV next year, has won two major awards at an American Film Festival.
The film won Best Screenplay Award and Best Film Award at the Austin Film Festival in Texas, and stars Jonathon Pryce, Griff Rhys-Jones, Geraldine James, Matthew Rhys, the late Ian Bannen and introduces John-Paul Macleod in the title role.
HTV will screen the 90-minute film, shot in South Wales, around Easter next year. Prior to that they will be given the British theatrical premiere at the Welsh International Film Festival in Cardiff on December 1.
The film is based on the novel by Rhidian Brook and tells the story of 11 year old Taliesyn Jones whose view of an imperfect adult world is coloured by his imagination and his faith in God. The screenplay is by Maureen Tilyou and the director is Martin Duffy.
It is a Snake River Production in association with HTV, The Arts Council of Wales’ Lottery Fund and CF1.
