'Winters End' Scoops Major Awards At Indian Film Festival

Irish film 'Winters End' directed by Patrick Kenny has scooped three major awards at the Pumelo International Film Festival in Mumbai, India.
Based in the heart of the world’s largest film making industry - Bollywood and ranked in the top 10 for 'international film festivals in Asia' by Google, the Pumelo International Film Festival awarded the Best Film Award (based on Audience Choice), Best Actor – Michael Crowley and Jury Choice Award to Winter's End.
A total of 300 films were submitted from 60 countries, and of the films submitted 50 Short Films and 10 Feature Films from 21 countries were selected and screened over the March 2007 Festival.
Patrick Kenny, writer/director said this was fantastic news commenting: “It shows you how global and universal story-telling and filmmaking is. It is a wonderful achievement to receive these awards and a credit to everybody involved,” expressed Damien Donnelly delightfully, producer on receiving the news. Winters End was produced with funding from bord Scannan na hEireann/the Irish Film Board.
