‘HOGWARTS’ INVADES THE NORTH

The Northern Screen Commission have been working behind the scenes to help bring filming for the feature version of the J.K.Rawling book, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, which is to take place this autumn in the North East of England.
Warner Brothers Producer, David Heyman, said: “We have been working very closely with the Northern Screen Commission to facilitate our shooting area. Their insight and co-operation has been valuable and I know that Harry Potter will be all the better for it.”
Commissioner, Paul Minghard, said: “We know there are many, many places the producers could have chosen from for the filming, but they have chosen the north and we are thrilled to bits to be hosting their forthcoming production shoot. But of much greater long-term importance is the potential this film will have for tourism once the film is made and shown to audiences worldwide. I am certain it will spread news of our region and who knows, it may mean redrawing the tourism map of England – we may become known as the ‘Home of Hogwarts’!”
