Capital FX expands DI division

Rod Shelton and Liz Clarke, both formerly of the VTR Group, have recently joined postproduction facility, Capital FX.
Rod Shelton has taken the role as Head of Digital Intermediate and Liz Clarke as Head of Sales and Marketing. An increase in business has been met with expansion and equipment upgrades at Capital FX's London facility in 2005. Consequently a separate DI division within Capital FX has been developed to meet this demand.
Ian Buckton, MD of Capital FX, is confident that the company has the upper hand over its rivals: “DI is currently a hugely competitive market - everyone's aware of that,” says Buckton. “But with our exclusive association with EFILMT in LA and the knowledge and expertise we have here in London, we know we can get the best results for our clients'. EFILMT, the world leader in DI and its development, is contributing its knowledge and support to Capital FX who are taking its solutions and workflows on board.
In order to accommodate client demand including the making of multiple negs on 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Harry Potter IV', Capital FX added an Arri scanner, 4 x Arrilaser film recorders Lustre, Smoke and Barco DP 100 digital projection to its already impressive list of facilities.
“Capital FX's existing business already does remarkably well and this can only add another string to its bow,' says Shelton. “With the ability to import data from a wide variety of sources, Capital FX can offer digital film output with the largest capacity in Europe.”
