MORRIS APPOINTED ITC DIRECTOR OF POLICY

THE ITC have appointed Dominic Morris to the new position of Director of Policy. Morris will report directly to Chief Executive Patricia Hodgson.
Currently Controller of Policy Development at the BBC, Morris will be joining the ITC on a date that has yet to be determined.
Commenting on his appointment, Morris said: “This is a very exciting time for the viewer and the industry. The ITC will play a pivotal role in setting the framework for the decade ahead. I feel privileged to be appointed to be a key part of the ITC team, helping to shape the framework for the decade ahead. Following the appointment by the Commission, the Chairman of the ITC, Sir Robin Biggam, said: “With the White Paper on Communications due to be published within the next few weeks and a Bill to be drafted, we are delighted that Dominic will be joining the ITC. His experience of the legislative process and regulation will be invaluable for the industry as a whole.”
Until 1996, Morris was Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit responsible for media, European, trade and industry, education and defence policies. He was awarded a CBE in January 1997 for his work in Downing Street, where, from 1988-1992 he was a Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.
