Roger Morris Appointed Managing Director of Elstree Studios

Roger Morris has been appointed Managing Director of Elstree Studios.
Roger Morris has been in the film and TV industry for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience in the management of major television and film facilities.
Cllr Morris Bright, Leader of the Council and Chairman of the Studios' board, said: "This is an exciting time for Elstree Studios and I am delighted that we have found such a strong candidate.
"Elstree Studios has been synonymous with filmaking, television and media production for the best part of a century and we are confident Mr Morris will be a strong leader who will be able to develop and grow the business further."
Mr Morris will take up his post this month. He was the Managing Director of Visions Studios, prior to which, he was the Managing Director of Teddington Studios and Managing Director of Television for Pinewood and Shepperton.
Mr Morris said: "I am thrilled to have been appointed and look forward to working for Elstree Studios and maximising its full potential. Elstree Studios has a wonderful production history and I intend to give it a wonderful production future.
"Elstree is already one of the leading UK television studios, with hit shows such as 'Big Brother', 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', 'Dancing On Ice' and 'Are You Smarter Than A Ten-Year-Old'. It's also the studio of choice for Matthew Vaughn's latest feature film, currently in production.
"I was recently involved in a high definition television production at Elstree Studios and was impressed by what it has to offer to both television and feature film producers. It has a fantastic range of studios from small stages to the large George Lucas stages where 'Star Wars' was produced. Plus, it has a back lot and, of course, the Big Brother house.
"Elstree Studios has already shown that it has the potential to become once again a major centre for film and television production in the UK and it is, of course, recognised internationally as one of the world's major studios. It is an exciting an challenging time for the whole television and film production industry. I am honoured to have been chosen as the Managing Director of one of the industry's favourite studios, to lead it forward."
