RTE APPOINT WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT

RTE have appointed Carole Coleman as their Washington Correspondent with effect form January 1, 2001.
Coleman, originally from Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, joined RTE on a freelance basis in 1992. She joined the newsroom in 1993 and in November ’94 she was appointed Environment and Education Correspondent. For the past two years Coleman has reported live from the Flood Tribunal and also acted as a stand-in presenter for ‘News at One’ and ‘Morning Ireland’.
Speaking about her new post, Coleman said: “I am very excited to be taking on a new challenge, I have always wanted to do a stint as a Foreign Correspondent. There should be plenty to report on from the States, with Clinton handing over to a new president and Ireland now represented on the UN Security Council.”
Before joining RTE Coleman worked as a reporter for Century Radio and she also worked as a reporter and presenter on a local radio station in Lowell Massachusetts.
