Ikegami release HC-500 & HC-500W 12 bit dockable camera range

The HC-500 and HC-500W are the latest in the line of Ikegami portable dockable cameras, replacing the popular HC-400 series.
The new HC-500 series of cameras are compatible with all the accessories from the HC-400/W cameras, but offer enhanced performance with the latest Ikegami Digital Signal Processing ASIC, 12 Bit A/D converters and the latest Advanced IT CCDs. The HC-500W is 16:9 / 4:3 switchable, while the HC-500 is capable of 4:3 only. They can be used in a wide range of applications.
For ENG or PSC they can be docked with any currently available dockable VTR, for example DVCPRO, DVCAM, D9, as well as some that have been discontinued, like Betacam SP (BVV-5, PVV-3), Betacam SX etc.
For studio or OB applications, they can be used with Ikegami’s CA-450 camera adaptor and MA-400 Multicore basestation, which allows SDI output from the basestation with upto 300 metres of camera cable.
The RCU-400 (Operational Control Panel) provides the vision engineer with all the controls and facilities that are expected from a top-of-the-range camera.
Another alternative for studios or OBs is to employ the HC-500/W with other manufacturers’ triax or optical fibre transmission systems, providing even greater camera cable lengths, making it a camera for virtually all applications, and all at a very reasonable price.
