Frost & Sullivan honours Grass Valley with 2005 Market Leadership Award

For the fifth consecutive year, global growth consulting company Frost & Sullivan (F&S) has awarded its Market Leadership Award to Grass Valley technology and products from Thomson.
This year’s 2005 Market Leadership Award was given in the category of ‘World Broadcast Switcher Markets.’
This year, after considerable research and industry analysis, F&S announced that Grass Valley has grown to become “a major player in almost every sphere of the markets in which it operates. The company is also the market share leader for the fourth year running in the video server space.”
The research firm said Grass Valley is also the clear leader in each of the sub-market segments, namely production, routing (Trinix and Concerto), and master control (Maestro, and Saturn) switchers.
This year’s award calls out the Grass Valley switcher line, which include the Kalypso SD and HD, XtenDD SD and HD and Kayak SD and HD switchers.
Showing its continued leadership, Grass Valley video server technology, specifically the Profile XP Media Platform family of multi-channel video servers, was previously recognized in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 with Frost & Sullivan’s Market Engineering Leadership Award in the category of ‘Compressed Broadcasting Market for Video Servers.’
