Rushes complete new Action Man commercial

Rushes have recently completed a fast paced, colourful commercial for Action Man, made exclusively for the cinema.
The commercial is seen from the perspective of a dare devil hero as he drives and flies through the exciting fictional streets of Landmark city. On his journey, Action Man is almost thwarted by his arch enemy and accompanying evil henchmen.
Director Kent Shively’s brief was to make it dynamic and high energy.
Senior 3D Artist, Angela Noble explained: “In order to create Kent’s vision, we produced an animatic that allowed us to move around the city very quickly, using barrel rolls and fluid camera moves that give the commercial it’s energy.”
Craig Travis, 3D artist, added: “With a fast turn around our tasks involved creating a large futuristic looking city that would be seen from the streets and the sky. This was achieved using photos of buildings that we heavily stylised.”
Nathan Walster, 3D artist, added details such as film posters, cars, and street furniture that in some cases can only be seen by slowing down the commercial. It is this level of detail that enriches the sense of a living city that is not just a stage set.
Action Man's evil enemies were modelled and rigged in Maya and although they only appear for the briefest of moments, again the attention to detail was very important to the team.
