New Moon strengthens director roster

New Moon, the multi-discipline production company, has announced the signing of leading SFX director Justin Klarenbeck.
Best known for its acclaimed films for London 2012’s Olympic bid, New Moon is aggressively growing its roster of directing talent for its corporate film, commercials and broadcast television divisions. Klarenbeck joins New Moon alongside Jason Edwards, Marieli Froelich, Daryl Goodrich, Jeremy Haccoun, Liz Hinlein and Tim Rolt.
Klarenbeck is already in production with New Moon working on a campaign through TBWA.
Executive Producer Jeremy McWilliams said: "Justin is an amazing signing for us. As you’d expect with his background, his visual effects are both stunning and completely seamless. But, unusually for an effects whiz, Justin is also a classic storyteller - he prefers a more organic approach and uses his effects know-how only when it is absolutely necessary. There’s also a neat wry touch to everything he does. Who would have thought you could get an extraordinary effects guy with a great sense of humour?"
A UCLA film school graduate, Los Angeles based Klarenbeck worked as a camera assistant for Roger Corman, the renowned director credited with giving James Cameron and Martin Scorcese their breaks.
After joining Dream Quest Images, Oscar winners for films such as ‘The Abyss’ and ‘Total Recall’, he became Visual FX Supervisor. Campaigns to date include ‘Underwater Tennis’ for Pacific Life and ‘Running of the Bison’ for San Miguel.
