De Lane Lea chooses HHB for Pro Tools

HHB Communications has announced the sale of three Pro Tools HD2 systems, an HD3 system and a quantity of 192 I/Os to De Lane Lea Studios.
Formed in 1947, De Lane Lea provides the film and television industries with audio post services from an impressive facility in the heart of Soho. Five dubbing suites (including an HD-equipped preview theatre) and a digital transfer bay are staffed by a dedicated team of experienced professionals totalling 38 people. From rushes to final presentation, De Lane Lea boasts an impressive credit list of Hollywood blockbusters and major TV series.
“We invested in the new equipment to augment our already significant Pro Tools inventory,” explains Chief Operating Officer Ian Davidson. “These days we might use up to five or six rigs on a single film – just to map the number of tracks that are required. Pro Tools is the industry standard system that our clients demand, so we didn’t even consider anything else.
“This is a significant investment for us and a necessary purchase. At present our Pro Tools systems mainly interface with AMS Neve DFC and Logic 2 consoles. We haven’t yet had call to use Digidesign’s control surfaces but that may well come in the future.”
Delighted with the performance of the Pro Tools systems, Davidson is equally pleased with the service De Lane Lea received from HHB: “I’ve been buying equipment from HHB for over 20 years and they’ve never let me down.
