LAST CALL FOR NORTHERN LITES SUBMISSIONS

THE DEADLINE for submissions under BBC Northern Ireland’s extended commitment to short films made in Northern Ireland, the Northern Lites scheme, is December 15, 2000.
Three live action short films are to be commissioned by December 22, 2000 for production and delivery by March 23, 2001. The films will be fully funded by the BBC Northern Ireland supported scheme.
All of the films are to be shot in Northern Ireland, and the maximum duration for each film must not exceed 4’30” including titles and closing credits.
The films may be shot on Super 16mm or 35mm and delivered on 35mm or Digibeta. No more than eight rolls of S16mm or 8x1000 feet rolls of 35mm film to be used in the making of each film. This limits the amount of stock used to give a minimum shooting ratio of 16:1.
The budget, which must be no more than £27,500, is to include 3x UK transmissions prepaid, and other clearances must include either ROW or US Theatric.
All submissions must include a full script, a budget, proposed schedule and the CVs of the Producer, Director and Writer, plus an indication of the probable Heads of Department and a short pitching document.
Entries should be sent to: BBC Northern Ireland Drama, Room 3.07 Blackstaff House, Great Victoria Street, Belfast, BT2 7BB.
