Northern Ireland Screen Seek New Board Members

News Image
A new public appointments competition has been launched by the Department for the Economy (DfE) to recruit nine new Board Members to the Board of Northern Ireland Screen.

Northern Ireland Screen is the lead agency in Northern Ireland for the film, television and gaming sectors with a vision to become the strongest screen industry outside London in the UK and Ireland.

The DfE are appealing to people of all ages and from a wide range of backgrounds and experience and would particularly welcome applications from people with a disability, those from ethnic minorities and young people under 30, as they are currently under-represented on the Board. The Department is currently operating the Guaranteed Interview Scheme in this competition for applicants with a disability.

This competition will be of particular interest to people who wish to develop their skills as part of a Board and are willing to learn. Previous experience of serving on a Board is not necessary as new appointees will undergo an induction programme, as well as being offered peer support.

Board Members are not remunerated and are expected to attend Board and Committee meetings totalling approximately 16 days per year. All reasonable travel and subsistence costs, and any reasonable dependent/carer expenses, including childcare, incurred while undertaking board duties will also be reimbursed where applicable.

Further information and application packs are availabe here.

This is an open competition which involves a simple application form and interview. The closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on Tuesday 10th April 2018.
